The Penguin-Update 4.0 is coming
The Google search engine algorithm, “Penguin 4.0” update, is due to be released this year. Gary Illyes, the Google Webmaster Trends Analyst, announced this at the beginning of October. Worldwide, Google Penguin was initially introduced in April 2012, and has been updated five times since. The last update, Penguin 3.0, was launched in October 2014.The Penguin algorithms are used to search the Web for pages with spam content. The term webspam describes Web content that website operators use solely for the purpose of search engine optimization to achieve top ranking rates in the Google search results. The Penguin update will also detect unnatural links on websites.
What makes the 4.0 Penguin update so special is that it will update around the clock, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Thanks to the real time basis, website operators will be more quickly penalized with a ranking downgrade if they use Black Hat SEO strategies, such as the purchase of backlinks which Google often rates as unnatural and detects, but also that their ranking will quickly recover once the links are removed.
