Fewer rejected texts – not an art, but the result of proper preparation

April 14, 2010

There is no secret recipe that’ll assure that your text would receive approval from every editor. On any number of occasions authors will ask what the exact reason for a rejection was, or why a text was rejected for just a minor mistake.

There are a few things that can be done to make the task easier in the long run.

Before beginning to write, carefully read the work instructions. You may consider printing them so that you can refer to them during the writing phase. If there are sections that you don’t understand or that you find ambiguous you can always send us a note at help-us@clickworker.com.

Once you have completed writing please re-read your work and correct any mistakes you might find. This is best done in a word processing program, such as Microsoft Word or OpenOffice Writer. This will allow you to spell check your work automatically. We are working on incorporating spell checking into our platform, which will make things easier for you in the long-term.

Finally, you may want to compare your text to the example contained in the instructions. This will allow you to avoid missing the boat with regard to writing style and type.
